The Customs Clearance is a fiscal procedure by which all merchandise originating or destined to the outside must be submitted so that the exporter receives the definitive permission to send its merchandise and the importer obtain the authorization to receive its imported merchandise. The purpose of the service is to verify the accuracy of the data declared by the importer or exporter in relation to the imported or exported goods, since it is on the basis of this declaration that any taxes due shall be calculated.
The Customs Regulation, through Decree, regulates the procedure of customs clearance, establishing what documents are needed for processing, deadlines and forms. Both customs dispatch procedures, whether customs clearance or import, are provided for and regulated by the aforementioned regulation.
